What Happens in an Energy Field Healing Session ?
Posted on
I started my training in Energy Field Healing (EFH) in 2008 and have offered this fascinating and effective energy therapy to clients ever since. I completed the Advanced Diploma in 2009 and in 2015 I completed the Teacher Training for Energy Field Healing.
I offered EFH to current clients for my case studies in 2008 and many decided to try it. Most of my clients now choose this form of healing. There are several advantages to EFH. It is an ‘active’ form of energy work, in that the healer purposefully seeks out old or stuck energy, or damage, in the client’s energy field and uses various techniques to deal with it. There is little or no physical touch involved. If I do need to touch a client – usually a joint or to check energy flow in the legs - I always ask first. This is vital, because no practitioner should ever touch a client without their permission.
At the start of any first session some personal details and history are taken, bearing in mind Data Protection (covered in more detail in the blog about Reiki Sessions.) In the first and any following sessions the client is offered the opportunity to say why they have come and what they feel they need help with. It is not possible to clear half a lifetime’s worth of stress from an Energy Field in one go and this is explained to every client. One session is likely to help a person feel lighter, better grounded and calmer. However, like going to the gym, further sessions can help more – if the client chooses.
I explain how I work in the first session, because this is necessary for informed consent, as well as helping the client to feel comfortable. In EFH we begin with the client standing up (or sitting on a chair) in the middle of the healing room. This allows me to move all around the client and their Energy Field, which should expand equally round the physical body. At this stage I explain a little of what I am finding and doing – because otherwise it just looks like my hands waving in mid-air!
After a few minutes the client will lie on the couch and I will work for 30-40 minutes. This is an opportunity for the client to lie quietly and relax and I tend not to talk, unless I need to ask the client something or the client wants to ask me something. During the session I am ‘scanning’ the energy field with my hands and higher senses, seeking out old, non-serving energies or damage, in the chakras or layers, and mending, clearing or re-balancing them.
There is no need to remove any clothing for EFH, except for outside wear and shoes. The client is covered with a blanket once on the couch. I generally work in silence, which allows the client to relax more fully, unless the client wants to talk or has questions. I encourage the client to close their eyes because this also helps relaxation.
I let the client know gently when the session is finished and allow them time to return to full wakefulness. They sit on the edge of the couch for a minute, to get their balance as their grounding settles in, and I check at the back of the field again. Then the client stands for the last minute, while I check again round the energy field.
There’s a record sheet for each session and this is shown to the client at the end, while I explain briefly what has been done. The client can ask questions or tell me anything they want to.
The usual advice after a session is to keep well hydrated and to rest over the next few days if they feel tired. Clients can contact me by phone or email if they have any queries after they leave.
Because Energy Field Healing works so deeply it is usual to leave at least 4 weeks between sessions. Apart from this it is up to the client whether to have further sessions and when to book these.
